We provide Expert Mulch Application, creating a wide, 2-3 inch deep "mulch doughnut." This method retains soil moisture and suppresses weeds while keeping mulch away from the sensitive trunk, allowing it to breathe and stay healthy. It’s the single best thing you can do for the appearance and long-term health of your trees.
What it is: The correct application of high-quality organic mulch to benefit your trees. This service can be an add-on to our excavation services or a standalone offering. It includes the removal of old, improper mulch or debris from around the tree base (if needed). We then apply 2-3 inches of your chosen high-quality mulch (e.g., shredded hardwood, cedar, pine bark fines – options and samples provided) in an appropriate diameter ring (typically 3-6 ft for established trees, wider for larger trees), ensuring mulch is kept 3-6 inches away from the tree trunk to prevent moisture damage. Price includes a standard amount of mulch; premium mulches or larger areas may adjust cost.

This service involves the careful, manual removal of salt-contaminated snow and ice from around the root flare and lower trunk of your trees. We also assess for compaction or salt damage and may suggest light soil amendments or temporary barrier options.
